Finally, a Rainy Day Ride
All the extra zigging to an already zaggy route would, i hoped, extend the ride just long enough to "suffer" through some of the rainfall we were promised for this day. It wasn't until i had finished up Out There, and was heading over to the Thompson Creek Trail and its adjunct, Powerline, that the promise was fulfilled. Not much, mind you, just enough to get a few drops to drip from the brim of my cap and turn the canvas material of my handlebar bag a deeper shade of green. Inside that bag was the new ride camera - ordering direct from Canon, i figured, would get it to me quicker than ordering through a third party (since it was out of stock everywhere i looked) - it seemed to work out that way. Anyway, and though the camera was in an additional case of its own, i wasn't looking for a drenching, just enough to say i got my seasonal rain ride in. I expected a goodly number of others would be Out There attempting to beat the downpour as well, but no, i crossed paths with only three other mtbers during the entirety of the space and the time through which i travelled.
Looking outside at the drips of shining drops, i'm thinking once may not have been enough. Lets do it again tomorrow.
