What's New is Old

 Everything old is new again.

Some will tell you that there is nothing new, that "it" has all been done before. When you're young you probably don't put much stock in that belief, confident that new things come around all the time. The older you get the more plausible it seems to be as things that were popular, fashionable, or otherwise common when you were young come back around in circular fashion.

Every so often the novelty of a bicycle wedding will electrify the cycling world - "wow, how cool is that!" But, like bell-bottom jeans, hippies, cool slang, and even mullets, tomorrows wedding-by-bike has its precedent. The illustration above comes from the San Francisco Call, 10 August 1895; there does not seem to have been any accompanying story, the illustration kind of saying all there is to say.
