Riding in Town: Way Over
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Caltech, University of La Verne, Pomona-Pitzer, Whittier College, Cal Lutheran University, Chapman University, Occidental College, University of Redlands - athletes from all those schools made their way to the campus of Claremont McKenna College for the SCIAC Track and Field Championships today (and tomorrow). When Spring arrives I start to expect certain events and anticipate their arrival here in town - things like the Kohoutek Festival (which I missed), the Rock-a-billy Festival (which is upcoming), and track and field events at the Colleges. I love track and field, and I look forward to those years when the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference hold their championships at the Claremont Colleges.
Good thing for cycling, because when it came to running I was not Bill Mockenhaupt, let alone Usain Bolt or Mo Farah.
As usual, when something is happening in town, there is no better way to get to it than by bike. The championships continue on Sunday - check the schedule here. A few more photos in addition to those seen here can be found in this album.

wish I could have been closer - the technique and form of the athletes who throw the javelin is fascinating
