Monday Blues: Shredded

 

It was way up out of reach of many men, let alone beasts. yet somehow it ended up in the mouth of one particular young beast.

Remember that one year the the Tour of California had a stage start in Claremont? It was way back in 2011, a pretty big day in local cycling, and back when this blog was still known as the Claremont Cyclist. I had just encouraged the boy to get Lars Boom to autograph his #1 foam finger, then noticed Erik Breukink was standing off to the side and quickly nudged him, saying "ooh, go get his too!" The boy found it all pretty exciting, but honestly, I was the one like the kid in the candy shop.

The Monday Blues has been an occasional feature here at the blog since inception; the blues, an emotion, a color, a genre of music, with a cycling twist.
