Monday Blues: Running to Catch the Sun

"Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in you hometown
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way...

And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun
But it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way..."
(Gilmour, Wright, Mason & Waters)

Those lyrics sound might be appropriate for any at this time of year, but somehow sound even more "right" on a Monday. To make things worse, I was in such a rush to get out the door this evening, get started on chasing that last bit of sun, that I forgot my headlight and had to call the ride short. By the time I got up to the Midway Bridge how much sun was left in the sky - none. 'Tis the season.

The Monday Blues has been an occasional feature here at the blog since inception; the blues, an emotion, a color, a genre of music, with a cycling twist.
