CSBG: Looking for a Few Good Riders
No resident requirement is necessary, although it probably helps to not live too far away; most rides, excepting the occasional remote start one, begin in Claremont. You can join a ride to the Bad Ass Cafe, or one to the Corner Bakery. You can join a ride that loops around the Puddingstone Reservoir over in Bonelli Park, and finish with breakfast at Eggsactly. Know something else? You don't even need to have reached that mystical "senior" age; even though most members may have, there have also been plenty who have not. Similarly, there is no upper age limit - if you can ride a bike, you can ride it with the Claremont Senior Bicycle Group. They do other stuff too - annual picnic, Christmas Party, holiday bike build and give away, even a monthly trash pick-up.
Anyway, like the little blurb in our local paper says, you can learn more at claremontseniorbikegroup.org
or, maybe, since that website looks like it could stand to be updated (the "local weekly rides" info, though, is useful) you can also check the CSBG on Facebook and see what those rides and events look like.
