If Mayans Rode Bikes

 ... Might they, five hundred years ago, have looked something like this:

This photo appeared in the Los Angeles Times around about the end of January. It was someone's school project, a pretty clever one I thought, a study of Mayan mathematics. Of course what really caught my eye was the illustration; the young artist / scholar was clearly familiar with mesoamerican codices, but creatively presented them with a more modern twist - riding a bike and a razor.
