Rain on the Scarecrow

"Scarecrow on a wooden cross, blackbird in the barn
Four hundred empty acres that used to be my farm...

Rain on the scarecrow, blood on the plow
This land fed a nation this land made me proud
And son I'm just sorry theres no legacy for you now
Rain on the scarecrow, blood on the plow
Rain on the scarecrow, blood on the plow..."
(Rain on the Scarecrow, Green, Green and Mellencamp)

Discovered scarecrow no. 2 during the evening road loops. It didn't look like there was any rain on it, and no clouds in the sky, but being cleverly formed with pool noodles, she might be used to being all wet. Anyway, Claremont's Scarecrow Party officially starts tomorrow (October 1), and the best way to look for them all is, naturally, by bike.
