Pedalistic Contortionists

Before photography became widely accessible and photographs the default form of illustration accompanying stories in print media, artists / illustrators and their hand drawn caricatures did the job. Drawings and other artistic works have continued to provide both a visual compliment to stories and stand-alone, inclusive narratives; after-all a picture can be worth a thousand words. A hundred years apart, two of my favorites past and present, one from the Los Angeles Herald, the other from VeloNews.
