Now Launching: BikeNab...

While driving out to Interbike this year, with Dale and Sam from the Velo, Dale told me of this plan he had to create a social media based bike registry. People would also be able to use this for posting alerts about stolen bicycles. BikeNab is the name of this registry and alert which was launched on Facebook yesterday. Unlike other bicycle registry's there is no fee for this, it is entirely social media driven; as such, it will be as useful as participants in the program make it. Not a lot of info there yet, I would like to see Dale put in a few words about how he would expect to see the registry and alert work, how he thinks it might evolve to become an effective tool in the battle against bike theft. Then again, maybe I will just interview him and post that info here.
