The Trails Need Us
It undoubtedly goes without saying that there is going to be a whole lot of forward looking by folks along the edge of our local mountains. A lot of rebuilding is going to have to take place before things around here can begin to resemble something like normal, and that's just peoples' houses, their businesses. You may know some of those people, you may be familiar with and patronize some of those businesses. You may have already contributed to help those folks rebuild, or at least help them to manage in the interval before they can begin to rebuild. Maybe, while you're at it, consider that all those trails we like to ride, the ones we like to hike, are going to need a lot of rebuilding work as well. Many of those trails may be in the National Forest, but it is very likely that they are maintained by volunteers such as those members of the Mt. Wilson Bicycling Association.
You see where this is going - now may be a good time to renew your lapsed membership. No, i'm sure most of ya'll are good about renewing every year. I on the other hand, even though I have the intention of doing so, am guilty of overlooking that task, and the next thing I know, two, three years have gone by. Anyway, from the fund raising, the advocacy, the stewardship, the trail work, there are more than enough reasons to renew, or to join for the first time for that matter.
The trails need us. Now is the time.
