Aha Makav

So this is what things have come to? No, not the whole felon as president issue, that is an entirely different thing. I'm talking about socks with instructions. Socks! With instructions! Anyway, I did get it right - without even trying, i might add; the shoes on the other hand... something looks a bit off.

Well, as you can see below I did get things straightened out after all, and eighteen miles to, through, and back from the wash (after having having first taken Finn MacCumhail on his four mile morning walk) ain't too shabby a morning.

Not that it is not exceedingly dry everywhere else Out There, but when there is water in the stream, that narrow ribbon along which it winds is completely transformed; a different world entirely. Yet it is the same, familiar; it is not difficult to understand how we feel different, transformed ourselves when we discover that there is water flowing again - "Aha Makav is the true name of our people, given to us by our Creator who loosed the river from the earth and built it into our living bodies. Aha Makav means the river runs through the middle of our body, the same way it runs through the middle of our land." (Natalie Diaz, The First Water is the Body)
