It's the Weekend: Out in the Country

Oh, and one more thing (I know, that makes no sense, but I thought rather than end with this one, I would put it right up front), don't forget tomorrow is Kimi Day over at Claremont Craft Ales where, between 1:00 and 10:00 pm all proceeds from beer and merchandise sales, as well as raffle tickets will go to Brewista Kimi to help offset costs associated with her cancer treatments. Not one, not two, not three, but four bands will be performing at 1:00, 3:00, 5:00 and at 7:00 pm. Ride on over (walking works well too), make an afternoon of it, and be one of those good deed doers.

Anyway, it is the weekend, and weekends are excellent times for getting away, maybe even, as Three Dog Night suggested, out in the country:

"... Whenever I feel them closing in on me
Or need a bit of room to move
When life becomes too fast, I find relief at last
Out in the country

Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the night-time
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'..."
(Williams and Nichols)

I suppose Bonelli Park does not quite equate with "getting away," and even less as "out in the country," but maybe a good ride there will provide somethin' worth rememberin'. Where ever the weekend take you, make it a good one.

not much to splash

toyon red, and sky blue

rocky road to... (fill in the blank)

a couple of the big pines in the grassy area overlooking the lake toppled over in the last wind storm

the correct answer (to fill in the blank) would, of course, be Dublin, but on this day a Bonelli hilltop sufficed.
