Up the Road: 300 for Encino

 

Was it last year, or the year before? Or the year before that? Seems as though i've lost track of time. Anyway, you might just remember some fundraising efforts (and may have contributed to those efforts) in order to get some new lighting at Encino Velodrome. It was a good effort, and they did indeed get some new lighting. Well, now the folks over there are looking to shed some more light on the old track, so...

get that brakeless bike ready, put some air in those tires, straighten out the saddle and handlebar, tighten up the chain, give it a new paint job, whatever it takes to get it ready to do some riding - 50 miles worth, or about 300 laps. Not a race, more like a party on wheels, and honestly after you've thrown a few dollars their way, you can ride as much, or as little as you want. It's all good, good for you, good for the track, and good for the folks who race there.
