There'll Be One More
The detour was relatively short but, coming so soon after the ride start, I wondered what might be in store for the rest of the route. As it would turn out, the overcast may have kept the crowds at bay, but the ride was pretty typical. Well, except that for the second time ever, I forgot both the starting camera, the back-up camera, and so had to rely on the third stringer to get me through the day. Oh well, with conditions expected to be wet over the next couple days, I seemed kind of appropriate that the year that started out so wet, should end the same way,
"Every breaking wave on the shore
Tells the next one there'll be one more..."
(Hewson, Clayton, Mullen, Evans)
Anyway, I did far less riding than I had hoped to do in 2023, but see no reason to doubt the deficiency can be turned around in 2024.
a stop for International (Thrifty) Ice Cream
the once, and future, beach bike path just south of Marina del Rey. the coast took a hit from the big waves, high tides. this had been, mostly, cleaned up by the time we came back in the afternoon...
though the big waves were still rolling in
lifeguards had the boats ready and waiting
a bit of Redondo Beach harbor
lunch at Quality Seafood Co
so long 2023, waiting to see what 2024 had in store...
Beautiful words, Tammy
