Cross Town Loop: The Three Wise Oaks

The three oaks in the photo above (the three closest ones anyway), two multi-trunk and one single trunk, have been around for a while. They've got some pretty nice canopy spread, but they have also had some amputations and natural breaks (you might have noticed one good-sized branch stretched out along the ground in the mid-ground. The Colleges are good at tagging the campus trees, those in the oak woodland through which the cross-town loop passes, as well as the more developed areas; these three, however, have no tags, and they have been marked with green paint. Whether this means that their time is up, they're being watched for disease or infestation, or something else entirely, I have no clue. Whatever the case, the three, like all the others in the woodland, make a nice backdrop to any posed bike.
