A Foggy December Ride Around Pomona
If not for the presence of Sunny with us, the Ride Around Pomona today would have been a much more dim and gloomy; worst may have been the ride into Claremont Village to meet up and caravan (or would that be bikavan) into Pomona. I was led to believe the fog was so thick that one rider had trouble finding her way through. My glasses proved more trouble than they were worth, so threw them off and rode the rest of the day bare-eyed - admittedly, a problem in itself, but hey, at least I could see again. I could see the dew dripping from the brim of my cap, and see it collecting in droplets of various size on top tube and vertical fork blades both.
The final RAP of the year was rather different from any of the others I have ever done, a bigger loop through town, and out of town, through Ganesha, around the Fairplex, into and around Bonelli Park and Puddingstone Reservoir which, unless you were standing on the shore, might just as well have been a figment of some people talking. It may have been a little less Pomona this month, but a fine loop never-the-less, with a few bumps in the road to get up and over complimenting the level streets of the city.
See ya next year, and remember the Ride Around Pomona goes the first Saturday of each month.
even downtown Pomona was murky enough for the lights to still be on
waiting for Santa's elves
speaking of Sunny, that little girl can ride! she was always up front leading the group (not only that, but her conversation was highly entertaining
through the gap
it takes a community to lift the three-wheeler over the gate
Dagmar and Tamera
pelicans and ducks
apparently mine is the only road bike to go up the trail to Fatt Hill
John, one of them anyway
Stephanie and Tamera
either one of those caps would have been welcome this morning
i end with this photo only because i don't think the City of Pomona gets enough credit for all the bike lanes they have added to the city streets
Okay, with that I'm off to the velodrome!
