Monday Blues: Tree #15
What the heck (i didn't actually say heck, it was something else), where did this 26" mtb tube come from. I was not particularly happy with the situation, and so was curing and mumbling out loud. Thankfully there were not a lot of people passing by so i saw no reason to let up. I mean, i haven't ridden anything requiring a 26" tube in fifteen years, or more. I don't even have a reasonable explanation for why it was wrapped around the saddlebag waiting to be used. Anyway to make maters worse, when i pulled the old tube out of the tire (after flatting, of course), i discovered a nice 2" long blowout hole along a seam. At that point my best option was to cram that mtb tube into a 700 tire. Sure i got it, but when i went to put air in the thing it wouldn't hold. Dang thing was no good either. So, yeah, not only was i carrying the wrong size tube for anything i ride anymore, but it wasn't even a good tube. Luckily i had only gone a mile down the road, so the walk back home wasn't anything and, since i notice that one of the remaining big pines along Shenandoah Drive had a visible tag, i thought why not. At least i get a Monday Blues out it.
The Monday Blues has been an occasional feature here at the blog since inception; the blues, an emotion, a color, a genre of music, with a cycling twist.
