Monday Blues: Spindle
And that's how it ended, with just a spindle where a pedal should have been. How it got to the point where it looked like that, i don't know. It was no use putting the pedal back on, the bearings were gone, and after a rotation or two it would just seize up anyway. Was it due to being banged against boulders? Was it due to being submerged in the snowmelt coming down stream? More likely, i think it was something that had been developing for a while. Well, whatever the cause, the outcome was going to be the same. I certainly can't recommend it, but if it is going to happen, let it happen with just a downhill run to home. I couldn't have that kind of luck, but once the climb back up and away from the stream was made, what remained of the ride was, mostly, downhill oriented.
i think it'll be weeks before that all drains away
the fall has changed this year
boulders, lots and lots of boulders
above the fall
silver ribbon winding down to the lake
having grown tired of hauling the bike up and down, over and around endless boulders, it was time to just go with the flow for a bits
sage - not sure if the tip is going to be a bloom yet, or more leaves
