School's Out Means Chalk Time

We've now reached that particular time of the year around here, a time that I can not ever remember not looking forward to. Yes, school kids all around the city will, by the end of the week, be released for the summer. That means the sidewalk around Chaparral has taken on an especially colorful appearance, and not just for the fallen Jacaranda flowers. I know, they don't allow the walk down the street to the pool anymore, and the chalk art is, therefore, limited to the sidewalk immediately adjacent to the school, but that just makes it easier to see everything. I swear the messages may get more artistic every year.

If you're riding through the area, maybe even after the evening ride through the Out There, make a slight detour and check out the art - soon. They're just made of chalk, after all, and won't last forever.

  1. Wow, there are some very artistic people living in Claremont. What a lovely tradition!
