February Interlude: Fun with Finn

You know, there was a time when even contemplating a single day away from the bike was nearly intolerable. It doesn't seem as much a sacrifice anymore, especially when that one day is the monthly interlude hike.

A day short of a year ago, we hiked the Lytle Creek's south fork, with stops at Bonita Falls, Hidden Falls, and a trio of mine tunnels. This morning we returned to the south fork not intending to visit any of those places - honestly, the distant view of Bonita Falls is probably nicer than the grafitti smeared mess it is up close - but rather to simply hike up canyon a ways, to see what we could see. True, there was another mine prospect just a stone's throw from where we stopped that I could have (should have?) but didn't check out, but the creek was flowing well, the air was crisp and clean, and that was good enough.

The weekend has begun and there is a big world out there just waiting for you to get out and find an adventure. Where will you find yours?
