Slow Sunday Scenes from the Village: Concert in the Park

If we had not been a little rushed for time, we might have pulled up a nice shady patch of turf and listened in to the music as Roy, and his fellow musicians, laid down some notes and chords out at Memorial Park late this morning. A little mini concert for anyone within earshot, those walking or riding past the spreading oaks in the park.

Unfortunately, carmageddon has pretty much returned, without missing much of a beat to the, previously COVID-passive streets of the Village -  the circling the block, the lines of idle motors - blech! Fortunately there are always those (and many more today what with the cooler temps) who know the better way.

More and more, studies have shown the boost that people riding bicycles, as opposed to driving, bring to local economies. The graphic below is generated from an Australian study.

I have kind of drifted away from the whole advocacy thing lately -  I mean other than showing the fun and health benefits of bicycling (though that technically is also a form of advocacy) - maybe I will try and do a little more.

A bout of "bad back" kept my mileage on the low side this weekend, but I did get out at least a little each day, hope you were able to get in some righteous miles.
