Cross Town Loop: Archaic

This post is kind of a challenge to you, and as such, I suppose, Claremont locals will have the advantage. I noticed this archaic symbol of a (not-really-that-old) communication device, in striking bas relief, above the doorway of a building I rarely ride past. It is certainly not out of the way, though when you pass by on the street it is not as obvious as it may appear here; if I ever held a photo scavenger hunt, it might just include this.

What is ironic is that the most virulent anti-bike motorheads will say that bicycles are archaic and became so with the advent of motor vehicle travel. Never mind the millions around the world who use it on a daily basis for transportation, recreation, health, the common good. Never mind that it remains unsurpassed in efficiency and cleanliness. Some things, because of their usefulness, their adaptable design, will remain viable across eras. Like the bicycle.

On the other hand it may take a massive electro-magnetic solar flare, or something else monumentally catastrophic, to make wired-rotary phones anything other than anachronistic.

So, who else knows where the bas relief rotary phone is?
