Monday Blues: Please Don't Tow...

Your car breaks down and you don't want the police to ticket or tow it away, so you leave a note, saying you will be right back. Sometimes cyclists can face the same sort of problem. You know, because I have mentioned it before, how the Claremont Colleges (and I dare say other universities do the same) will round up and corral bikes left unattended over summer break. The intention is to cut down on incidents of theft and vandalism. Whether their abandonment was intentional or not, these bikes are then made available to new students when classes start up again a few months later. The problem, of course, is that some students are on campus through the hot months and would prefer that their rides remain where they were left parked and locked. I hope the note works.
