This Bud's for You, 22 April

 There i was riding along Third, through La Verne, when a voice off to my left said to me, "you're going to make it this time," and she was right, with plenty of time to spare - even after taking the more circuitous route to get there. "There," of course, was that somewhat crooked line across Puddingstone Drive, marking the finish of the weekly Bud's Ride.

It is always a bit confusing to arrive just before the finish sprint. It is always a bit unsatisfying when i have to attempt a guess as to whether the riders seeming to be off the front are actually that. Fortunately, this evening i had assistance in determining who was who, and where they were in the grand scheme of the ride. With that knowledge i could discount the first three, who appeared to be off the front in favor of the bigger bunch churning up the road behind them. From that group emerged the L39ion rider who claimed this week's Bud's crown - this Bud's for you.

victory assured at this point, but that sprint for 2nd and 3rd is showing some promise

i may not be keeping up with that these days, but the cruise back home is no problem
