Up the Road: Virgo's Montrose Memorial Ride

I am guessing that everyone has heard by now of the tragic crash that happened on the Saturday Montrose Ride. If you have ever done the ride, you know that it is populated by a great community of competitive cyclists, people who live and breath the action, everyone from weekend warriors to train seven days a week athletes. Shamefully, maybe, it is a ride i have not done in years, yet i can still feel the strain in my legs, the rush of wind against my face, the thrill when the sprints wind up, the hum of all those wheels, and overall, the camaraderie. The hum is two wheels quieter now, and to remember the rider who turned those two wheels, this coming Saturday will be a special edition of the Montrose Ride. Head out if you are able.
