Snide

What was it, Tuesday i suppose... Wednesday was Bud's so, yeah it had to have been Tuesday, the evening loop, which i pluralized to some degree, if not in full. A couple kids were out there - full-face helmets, e-motorcycles - small ones to be sure, but lacking pedals, they were certainly not e-bikes. I figured they must be part of the host who have been tearing up the trails lately, leaving those long gashes in the dirt, carrying too much speed and blowing out the turns; since one was walking (i didn't inquire if this was due to running out of juice, or some other mechanical), i didn't see them in action, mind you - i was just guessing.

We were all off our bikes at this point, having to get past the yellow gate, them under it, and me around. With the sun getting close to the hilltop, i was quick to get going; one of them, the one with the working bike said "have a good ride," to which i replied you too, that last word kind of catching, and turning into but I guess you're walking now, huh? I didn't intend it to be mean but as i rode away i thought that it did sound kind of snide, given the circumstances. A couple minutes later i reached the far end of the dam, my turn around for this evening, and i boldly did just that. I hadn't headed back very far when along comes those two kids. They'd figured it out, the one with the working bike pushing the other, and making good time at it too. It was the obvious thing to do after all, but i had to give them credit for getting past the problem, gave them a there you go! and a thumbs up.

Now what'd they do about those uphill switchbacks?

the top two photos show the true colors of evening, the bottom one is modified otherwise you never would have seen the moon - both she and the sky were very pale
