Monday Blues: Hey There Mr. Blue

Well, after a week of mostly grey, the weekend could not have turned out any better for getting out, eh? Revisiting the that little bit of red-winged blackbird habitat Out There, revealed that there are in fact two males living in the little marsh area - when i threw a rock into the water, they both flew out to investigate but, alas, i wasn't quick enough with the camera to catch them both. I also caught a glimpse of the female, one that i am sure of, but i think two of them as well. I think if i ever decide to be a serious birder, i am going to need a bigger lens - you know, one of those monstrous looking things.

Easter seemed particularly fine for a relaxing cruise along our local rail trail, the Pacific Electric Trail (PET).

"Sun is shinin' in the sky
There ain't a cloud in sight
It's stopped rainin, everybody's in the play
And don't you know
It's a beautiful new day...

Hey there, Mr. Blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around, see what you do
Everybody smiles at you..."
