Cross Town Loop: Tree 2024

Most of the branches curve around like rivers in the air, abruptly changing direction almost as if they have run up against some unseen immovable barrier, forcing them to find another course. If those aren't enough for us to mark it as 'distinguished,' go ahead and consider that one branch growing out, mostly parallel to the ground for, what, nine, ten bike lengths; how many swings could be hung from that one, and filled with kicking, pumping legs confident that the great strength of the oak would not fail to hold them all. Many trees watch over the garden enclosed within the fence, the plots filled with leafy greens, borders overflowing with colorful nasturtium, salvia, and lavendula, none of those trees look more ready to defend against a threatening interloper than this one.
