Mission Accomplished

I have decided that the best thing about finishing something i set out to do, is not the sense of accomplishment (however small or great it may be), not whatever i may have seen along the way, not the settling of a mystery (the 'what's there that i have not seen yet'). No, it is the knowledge that i do not have to do it again. It wasn't the time spent covering such a short distance, nor the wet feet, not scrambling up the bank when the way up creek was blocked, not battling the willows, nor getting sliced and diced by all those other creekside shrubs, not the short here and there backtracking to find a way around obstacles. Do it again? No, once is enough.

low water, lots of rocks, pretty easy to keep my feet dry (mostly) most of the time

blocked

no way around it here - standing in water just short of the gate, and contemplating one last battle with the willows
