Slow Sunday Scenes: Suspended Meditation
I had something a little more substantial, a little more adventurous planned for this final Sunday of the year, but then decided on one last Slow Sunday Scenes from the Village to close out the year, after all there are still three no-work days before the holiday season comes to an end.
Not a lot can equal a good ride in the mountains to foster a sense of renewal, a sort of active meditation, something good for the mind and the body both. But I'll suspend that for another day.
Anyway, it is always fun to check out the farmers' market, and other happenings down in Claremont Village.
The construction fencing has mostly been removed from the new home of the Scripps College, and Pitzer College Department of Natural Sciences. Though I can't say there is anything extraordinary, or unique about the exterior architecture, the sculpture out front is meditative, and the inscription walk along the north side of the building invites you to stop every twenty feet or so, to consider the quotes from a number of women scientists and artists.
