Up the Road: Turkey Trot Cross

Race coverage here at the blog has been spotty... no, that's not true, it has been less than spotty this year - a couple mountain bike races in January, a crit in March and track nationals in July, and that is all. So it was pretty exciting when I saw the release of the SoCalCross calendar; I mean, maybe not jump and shout YES!  - Oh YEAH! exciting, but still, something to look forward to. I've missed witnessing that sort of competitive action.

So, are you ready? If not, there is not a lot of time to get there - next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, two days after Thanksgiving it will be Turkey Trot CX time at Estancia Balearic Community Park, in Costa Mesa. I can see those miles of green tape snaking around the grass, up the hillside, and around the Sepulveda Adobe now.

SoCalCross is here, and here, and here. Will you be there?

And hey, while we are on the subject of racing, if you happen to out around Encino this Saturday evening, think about stopping by the ol' concrete oval for the 600 lap race party. Throw them a little donation, if you are willing. I haven't been out there since contributing to the lighting fund, so I might just stop by to check out the action under the new(ish) lights. It should be fun.
