Up the Road: La Verne Stage Race

 

When the old Pomona Valley Stage Race / San Dimas Stage Race went under a few years back, we were left with a big hole in the calendar; the local racing community was bereft, maybe even bereaved by the loss.

The new La Verne Stage Race is stepping into that void. Three day events like this have the potential for community building, a side benefit for the sport. The San Dimas Stage Race did that, but we'll have to see if this grows the same. Anyway, three stages of racing starts with a Friday time trial (I haven't seen the location yet), a circuit race around the, by now familiar, LaVerne course with start/finish by Brackett Field, and a shorter four-corner criterium.
