It's the Weekend: Bring out Your Bikes

Indeed it is! Don't forget, tomorrow the first Ride Around Pomona of the year, the first in more than a year, rolls from Shawn Diamond Plaza at 8:30. A group will ride from Claremont Village (353 W Bonita Avenue) to Pomona, leaving at 8:00 - join in there, or just meet the group at the Plaza.

Looking back I saw it had been more than a month and a half since last I rode up in the Wilderness Park on a Friday afternoon; a visit to that dirt was overdue. With heat on the uptick during that part of the day there was hardly anyone up there, almost like old times. A quick visit to Dun Eire, a little more than half way through the ride, where I knew I would find some dappled shade; the little single track leading up the hill there (and beyond) is quite well defined - clearly someone must use it on a regular basis.

Anyway, I don't see anything standing in the way of riding this weekend. There is stuff to see and places to explore when you get out on your bike, so pump those tires, lube that chain and get on out.
