Bikes on Film: The Dig

An olde time proper English bicycle, a carry it on the boat bike, a sometimes ridden at hurried pace bike, archaeology and a long hidden Anglo-Saxon burial mound - what's not to like. A compelling, true story with enough side-plots to keep even the non-archaeologists (and non-excavators) interested. Besides that, I thought the main parts were acted out quite well. The Dig, on Netflix.

    1. People at work have not been impressed the Netflix films lately, but this held my interest.

  2. Anyone know what kind of bike it was?

    1. It doesn't usually take long before someone starts a thread somewhere but, so far, I'm yet to see one.

    2. It certainly isn’t a period bike. The frame angles are right, but center pull brakes and whatever that front fender is are modern amenities. The real rod brakes and matching Raleigh fenders would have been just fine thank you. The chain case is nice, and the Raleigh superb headlamp, but forgetting the dynohub seems silly as the headlamp is now rendered useless.
