Cross Town Loop: Sons of Hiroshima

There is so much interesting stuff right in our extended backyards if we just make the time, and make whatever extra effort, it might take to find, or notice, them. The best way to do that is to ride, or walk, more often - forgo the motor for all those short trips where it just is not necessary. You might be surprised at what you can find.

Well, the commemorative plaques for each of these plants - (1) tree, and (1) vine - say that they were planted in October 2016, but in all the times I have ridden past this spot, I really can not recall seeing them until now. Maybe they were planted then, but the plaques are new?

"Donated by
Green Legacy Hiroshima
This tree is part of a project to
safeguard and spread worldwide
the seeds and saplings of
Hiroshima's A-Bomb survivor trees.
Planted on October 14, 2016"

ps. Gingko's come in both male and female, and I really do not know which gender this one is, so perhaps that title should read Sons, and Daughters, of Hiroshima.
