'Bout as Green as it Gets

"There they are - in the sofa corner." I knew the bunch in the comfy seats was who I was looking for because I recognized some of them. There I was, a Thursday evening at CCA - Claremont Craft Ales - not typical. A Friday, sometimes, a Saturday, sometimes, a Sunday, sometimes sure. But Thursday? Not normal. And the occasion was not the Thirsty Thursday ride which, before now, would have been the only reason to be there on this particular night of the week. True, bicycles were involved, in fact they were the theme of this monthly event - Claremont Green Drinks, sponsored by Sustainable Claremont.

People from the Pomona Valley Bicycle Coalition stopped by, as did others from Bike SGV, and of course there were plenty of people from Sustainable Claremont. Per the theme there was plenty of talk that revolved around bicycles - bike commuting, local rides, the Claremont premier of the Bicycle Revolution film, planning for an upcoming brewery ride. There may have been other talk as well, but since those couple brews set my mind on a single track course, I don't know what that "other talk" might have been. Who knew you could have so much fun off the bike? Anyway... themes for this monthly get-together change each thirty or so days, and there is likely to be something that piques your interest - check it out. The Green Drinks get-togethers are a great way to share information, thoughts, learn new things, even meet some people with common interests.
