2014 SDSR Host Housing
The 2014 San Dimas Stage Race is less than two weeks away now. You may know, or not, that the three day race is one of only a handful of homegrown, multi-day races held in Southern California. Its success depends a lot upon the efforts of volunteers - people, who on race day set up the course, then take it back down, who course marshall at corners, helping to ensure that the race runs smoothly and safely. Another way that the local community helps is by volunteering their homes - a spare room, a couch, an unused patch of floor, a kitchen, a shower - to host one or more racers during the event, and perhaps as much as a couple days leading up to the race. It is a great way to be involved, to be a part, take an active role. Hosts have told me that they have enjoyed the experience of hosting racers who come to SoCal from around the country, even from other parts of the world. Sound interesting?
