Yes, it is here. Southern California cyclocross season begins this weekend at, what seems to have become something of a traditional opening, held at the Los Angeles State Historic Park near downtown. What I like about LASHP, aka the Cornfield, is that you can see just about the entire course from where ever you are. The backdrops, both north to the San Rafael Hills and North Broadway Bridge, and south to Chinatown and DTLA are pretty nice perks too. I will be there roaming around, looking for photos and stories to capture the day - so smile, do something wild, say something clever, but most of all don't forget to ride fast.
