The 2017 Pumpkin Patch Pedal

Following the success of the 2016 Pumpkin Patch Pedal it would be in denial to say that 2017 was a smash hit. I won't speak on behalf of anyone other than myself, but the turnout was rather disappointing.  For those of us who were there - we made the best of it. Maybe because it was Sunday, rather than Saturday, traffic was lighter and the temperature was considerably cooler. A little post-ride fare at the Rookery put some spirit back into the day, and I know that the recipients of all those extra festival passes were grateful, even if they did not know the admission came courtesy of the Pomona Valley Bike Coalition.

The question of the day became whether that trailer would hold up on the return ride burdened with the weight of four large pumpkins. Some of Pomona's most surface-challenged streets put it to the test and, though there was some certain side-to-side shimmy and outright off-course bounce, none of its orange passengers went flying, nor its wheels depart in opposite directions.

So you missed this one. Okay, you'll get over it. Various local PVBC rides and other happenings take place throughout the year. For news and reminders of all the Pomona Valley Bike Coalition's upcoming events all you need do is like their Facebook page. Simple.
