Village Venture 2026: Go By Bike
It is late in October, Village Venture time. "Same as it ever was" springs to mind, never-the-less i think this makes three years in a row i have wheeled on down the road to join the throng to check out the merchandise. There have certainly been years in the past when looking at the same drink coasters, bird houses and sea glass stuff just did not hold any attraction, but there is always the chance of spying something new - that usually means searching out the actual one of a kind art, mixed among the booths of clearly mass produced fluff. This years' best find was called Etchhaus Fine Art - that velodrome racing scene would certainly be well placed on a wall at home. Unfortunately i did not ride home with it on the back of the Ibis.
Of course, mostly i just like going down there to see the dogs in costumes and the people on bikes. There were plenty of both of those. A couple days previous, i was reading a discussion somewhere about the best way to get to Venture, with the question being "how will you get there?" before going on to point out where parking and shuttles would be available. There was one "walk from home" response, but not a word, as far as i could see, about the great number of bike racks around the Village area. Well, there are those of us who do not need any additional prompting to go by bike.
