Think about it - when did you first start using Slim or some other Slime-like puncture sealant? Ten years? More? Think about for a minute. Slime has been around since 1989. So how long have you been sealing you flats? Say it out-loud; an approximation will do.

From 1907: "A wonderful new substance, which was invented in Australia and has already reached the British markets, is reported by the United States consul at Birmingham, England. It is called miraculum, and consists of a creamy fluid which, when injected into a rubber tire, spreads along the inner surface of the tube, and it is claimed is a perfect self-healer for punctures."
