Up the Road: Bike Month Events
Now that we have made it to May, aka Bike Month, there are a whole lot of things coming up on the calendar you might want to take note of. Among them are:
the Donut Ride for No Kid Hungry FUNraiser happens on Saturday 12 May. Donations benefit the non-profit organization No Kid Hungry
The annual Ride of Silence is held all around the world in remembrance of our cycling compatriots no longer with us, and as a call to recognize the necessity of road safety. Multiple event take place across Southern California, including the Inland Empire one, held in Rancho Cucamonga.
The Bike to Work Day Pit Stop falls on Thursday 17 May. As usual, the annual event will be locally hosted by the Pomona Valley Bike Coalition at the Claremont Depot. The Local Bike Stand will be on hand to lend a hand with any little bike issues you may have with your commute bike.
Not technically a part of Bike Month, the second Paper Route Ride will once again be raising funds for our favorite local Olympic cycling hopefuls, and will be held on Saturday 2 June. You can purchase special kit, made by Catella, for the ride by ordering before 10 May.
