Mid-week C & V: 1930s Trygg
From Norway. Like the Hercules, this is another oldie I saw up in Auburn, California several months ago. Not a lot of information on Trygg, but they date back to the company's founding in 1897. Bikes were produced in Lillehammer, Norway by P. T. Helleberg in partnership with Einar Haugen. I gather the name Trygg translates into English as safe, or stable; quite apropos for a bicycle. Though the head badge is lacking on this example, it does however, have both the trademark Trygg ornament on the front fender, and the troll riding a bike emblem on the seat post. Wish I had taken more photos than these three, it is an interesting bike.
