From the Archives: Holy Cross Grand Prix, 1992...

Alicia deCampos in second spot on the women's podium. Alicia was not the only Chevrolet/LA Sheriff rider to podium here in 1992 - Steve Hegg took 1st and, I believe, Jamie Paolinetti took 2nd in the Pro men's race. As for my race, the best I can say about it is that I managed to avoid each of the four crashes that took place. The Holy Cross Grand Prix was run by the Warner Velo club, a strong local team. Following the death of Southern California racing icon, Barry Wolfe in 2003, the race was renamed the Barry Wolfe Grand Prix in his honor. In 2012 the race was moved to a new host location in Westlake Village under the sponsorship of Serious Cycling, Newbury Park Bicycle Shop, and Westlake Cyclery.
