Returning with Stars and Stripes...

Not wanting to end the day on that earlier somber (yet neccesary) note, I thought I would make a quick recognition, one first noted this morning at SoCalCycling dot com

Claremont's own, Frank Schroeder will be among a handful of Southern California racers returning home with stars and stripes on their backs, and medals around their necks. Masters National Championships have been taking place in Bend, Oregon where Schroeder, who races with the BBI-SIC Cycling Team, paired with Scott Raymond (also BBI-SIC Cycling) to win the elite men's tandem time trial championship. The pair clocked a time of 50:27.5 along a 40 kilometer course, winning by a mere eleven seconds over the 2nd-placed finishers. Significantly, this is the third consecutive National Championship victory for the Schroeder/Raymond duo in the elite tandem discipline.

The Masters National Championships began yesterday, the 4th, and continue through the 8th of September.
